THE "X" RIDES - The Road Is Out There! May 3-4, 2008 Rachel, Nevada - 11th Annual The "X" Rides - The Road Is Out There! Two fully supported FUN bike tours on & off Nevada's Extraterrestrial Highway (Hwy. 375). Saturday features "The 'X' Ride into the Twilight Zone," a 40-mile road bike Night Ride out and back to the "AREA 51" Mailbox. Join in the fun with ALIENFEST… with an Alien Costume Contest, Light Up your Bike Contest and Special Prize for the bicycle that most resembles a UFO. Overnight camping, star-gazing and other alien activities permitted. Sunday is "The 'X' Ride - To the Outer Limits," a fully supported off-road mountain bike ride to the "outer limits" - the Security perimeter of AREA 51. 60 participants. |

America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride Sunday - June 1, 2008 Lake Tahoe, Nevada - The 17th Annual "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride-Lake Tahoe" has built a reputation for not only its spectacular scenery, but also its great food and support. Boat Cruise/35-Mile Fun Ride, 72-mile ride around the Lake, and full 100-mile century are offered. This ride promotes Lake Tahoe Bikeway, the plan to build and interconnect bike lanes/trails around Lake Tahoe, and is the culmination of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's National Team In Training spring fund raising program. 3000 participants. |

Tour of the Carson Valley - Barbecue & Ice Cream Social Sunday - June 22, 2008 Genoa, Nevada - 2nd Annual Tour of the Carson Valley – Barbecue & Ice Cream Social is a fun historic bicycle tour for all abilities in the Beautiful Carson Valley and is one of the many events offered in conjunction with the Carson Valley. Pedal back in time on optional mileage routes taking recreational bicyclists along the eastern foot of Sierra Nevada Mountains on former Pioneer, Pony Express, Stagecoach & Emigrant Wagon roadways. |
